How much does the racquet club run for membership though? That's my question...

Im not sure about membership but anyone can go there and play. I think its about 10 dollars an hour or so.

If I had someone to go play with I would...I just don't have the time nor the opponent!

I know what you mean there Crazie. Racquetball is a ton of fun, and a workout. I havent played in probably 4 years, but I loved it when I was at E&H.

Exactly--it's a lot easier for me to come see you in JC and play tennis for free out on ETSU's courts as opposed to you coming all the way to Exit 7 and meeting me to play tennis indoors...

There's just no one here in Abingdon that plays a lot of tennis or that's willing to go play after work if they do play. All the people here at the office are slow-pitch softball freaks anyways--that gets boring after a while.

You can play tennis indoors in the minidome man, but you better be one quick SOB thats all I gotta say.

Mega- there are indoor tennis courts in abingdon at justennis on lee highway. Not sure about the rate or anything like that, but some of my girls take lessons there.

The racquet club is actually in tennessee- about 25 min from JC. (I know because i was hitting there from 1-2 and made it to JC to play before 2:30 a couple saturdays ago) It has four indoor courts and is on bluff city highway- just take volunteer parkway and turn at the food city and its across the street from it- there is a golf place on the side of it (the side you see from the road) I think it may cost a little more than 10 dollars an hour because they have posted that the meta tennis leagues can reserve it for an hour and half for 36 dollars. But of course i dont know if they are talking about for one, two, three, or four courts.

I've started taking lessons again there (lost a bit of my game after not playing for 6 years, but luckily its coming back and he's helped me get "prettier" strokes) and they've helped me find a lot of people to hit with and hooked me up on a couple of league teams.

wow, they have really went up on their rates. I thought there were more courts, but Ive only played there one time and I was shell shocked. I had to play a dude from Ecuador and I lost in about 30 mins [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]

So are the indoor courts on lee highway quality courts? There are some in richlands at the rec center but they arent very good at all.

Have you ever played in the minidome hokie? The courts are rubberized so the ball just takes off. The ball skids like it would on grass but instead of staying real low, you can kick serve someone out so far that you can put them on the track. Honestly its a horrible surface, but I can understand now why guys like Nadal dont want to play on grass after growing up on the clay.
